this was the first idea that i came up with, brainstorming in class, but im really considering this idea, i'm not sure if the narrative is good enough, il have to talk to Shaun Belcher about it. If the narrative is ok, then i think i would like to further develop this idea; putting a mobile phone together in order to turn it on.

Interactive Crime Map
the police has made a public interactive map of where crime is happening the most in the UK, i thought this would be interesting to post, it is an interactive feature in which the user can see different locations in the UK and wether or not the crime rate is high or low there.
my first animation using Flash :)
i had to post this...
interactive narrative; example 4 - DAYS WITH MY FATHER
This is by far one of the coolest photo albums/stories i have read recently, a photographer's interactive photo album with a narrative, simply telling the reader about his father, but with such meaning, and great photo's of his father at the later stages of his life, reading this reminded me a lot about my granddad and so this website has a lot of substance and depth.
Interactive narrative; tutorial
i found this tutorial online, it shows you how to create there own existing interactive narrative, i thought it would be useful to post, i know it will help me in using flash

Interactive narrative; example 3 - SOUTH PARK CHARACTER CREATOR
the south the South Park character creator on www.sp-studio.de is a simple interactive game, where you create a character, and customize everything, based on characters from the cartoon South Park.
According to the site it is the first and biggest flash game to create your own character in south park style.
it is a very addictive game, you don't do anything with the characters once they are done, its purely just to have fun, and yes i did make my own character, because its a very fun game and i enjoyed creating a South Park character based on me.
Interactive narrative; example 2 - (2008) THE YEAR IN PICTURES
This site allows the user the see 2008 in New York in pictures, the ability to first choose which category; eg sport, politics, the region, economy etc.
Once a category is chosen, a slideshow is available to see many pictures of what happened in 2008 regarding that category, but being interactive you can see an index menu to choose a picture to go to and view.

interactive narrative; example 1 - THE HISTORY OF LAS VEGAS - WITH ANALYSIS
http://www.lasvegassun.com/history
This website has a section dedicated to the history of Las Vegas, i think the interactive feature of the map is very exciting for someone who hasn't been to vegas, like me, i am able to move around the map and select where to go, and then learn more and see more about that location. This extract from the overview of the website explains exactly what the website is about;
- An interactive map featuring renderings of 40 current casinos on the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown and 40 old casinos in the same spots. Each casino is clickable with a pop-up window providing several photos, quick facts, opening/closing dates, misc. info., and a casino description.
- On the interactive historical map, you'll find a clickable drop-down timeline that shows keys events for every decade from 1900-to-now, with photos or slideshows also depicting the key moments/individuals of the time period. Another tab clicks over to entertainers, which tell the story of some of the top performers of the era. To see a non-flash timeline, 1829 to 2008, go here.)

This exhibition looked like something i should put in, i personally wouldn't enter my work into this exhibition because i don't design interior architecture, but overall it looked like a very impressive exibition for showing work and winning awards in that area of design, and i have a very good friend who does interior design/architecture, so putting this on my blog could help them also. |
